In many processes electronic equipments, as well as industrial computers have to work safety under hardest environmental conditions over many years. The entry of wettness and dust must be prevented so that reliable function is warranted. Production areas are burdened with dust, ol, soot, etc. In food production it must be attended that the equipement is not damaged by cleaning with water or other cleaning agents.
In concept, developement and production tci sets value on abidance of IP classes (IP International Protection). The front of our industrial computers with TFTs are protected in accordance to IP 65 rear side at least IP 52. The unique selling point of the terminal T15 is, that it is all around protected according to IP 65. See the following chart for apportion the protection classes:
Coding: IP (Indicator1)(Indicator2)
for example IP 65=
(6) Complete protection against touching. Protection against dust penetration.
(5) Protection against a stream of water.
| Indicator 1 | protection against contact | Indicator 2 | protection against water | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
0 | no protection |
0 | no protection against water | |
1 | 1 Protection against solid particles > 50 mm |
1 | Protection against vertically dripping water | |
2 | Protection against solid particles > 12mm |
2 | Protection against drip water falling at any angle up to 15° relative to the vertical line must not have a damaging effect. | |
3 | Protection against solid particles > 2.5mm |
3 | Protection against spray water Water drops falling at any angle up to 60° relative to the vertical line must not have a damaging effect. | |
4 | Protection against solid particles > 1mm |
4 | Protection against splash water. | |
5 | Complete protection against touching live Protection against internal dust deposits. |
5 | A stream of water from a jet pointed at the operating fixture from any direction must not have a damaging effect. | |
6 | Complete protection against touching live. Protection against dust penetration. |
6 | Protection against flooding In the event of temporary flooding (e.g., from lakes), water cannot enter the operating fixture in damaging amounts. | |
7 | Protection against immersion Water cannot enter in damaging amounts if the operating fixture is immersed in water under specific pressure and time conditions. | |||
8 | Protection against submersion Water cannot enter in damaging amounts if the operating fixture is submersed in water un- der specific pressure and time conditions. | |||
9 | Protection against water from all angels and by high presure to the chassis. (High pressure cleaner 80-100 bar). |
