Near Field Imaging - NFI

TCI-News Abonieren

Near Field Imaging, a projected capacitive technology, is extremely rugged, yet sensitive to touch, making it perfect for harsh industrial environments and supervised kiosks.
Near Feald imaging (NFI) touch screens consist of two laminated glas sheets with a patterned coating of transparent metal oxid between. An AC signal is applied to the patterned conductive coating, creating an electrostatic field on the surface of the screen. When a finger - or other conductive stylus comes into contact with the sensor, the electrostatic field is disturbed.

Advantages

  • good optical clarity
  • extremely durable - scratch and debris resistant glass front
  • operates with finger, gloves or conductive stylus
  • accurate - even under harsh conditions

Disadvantages

  • sligthly less touch resolution
