"Villa Eifel"

The cockpit in the kitchen

In a large family house in the German Eifel a hobby pilot fulfilled himself his dream of an intelligent house: From a central control unit in the kitchen the landlord has the complete technology within and outside of the house under his control. Like with a central board computer he steers with the touch panel shutters, temperature, light, safety engineering and further building services. The control functions go however far beyond the usual conveniences. The hobby pilot uses the meteorological data recordings of his intelligent house also as source of information for flights with his helicopter. Apart from comfort the comprehensive building automation has substantial advantages for security. The cameras in the house and on the area are equipped with movement alarm units. As soon as movement is registered, the recording starts. Exactly the same windows and doors are equipped with sensors and further technology, which are connected with the EIB/KNX bus-system.

Solar house of TU Darmstadt

ambiento19 as commandpanel in the innovative solar house of TU Darmstadt

The Technical University Darmstadt created a trend-setting solar house and chose the ambiento19 as commandpanel. As only German university it jumped into the international building competition "Solarly Decathlon" of the US Energy Ministry. The ambiento has a 19" display, glass front, black touchpanel front and a black anodized aluminium framework. It will control the active systems of the solar house (photovoltaics, solar thermal technologies, household appliances, cooling, heating, ventilation).
