PLC Operating Terminals with XS-Technology

XS-Technology is a system construction kit with universal PLC-operating panels. Many protocols and drivers are available.
Therefore the panels are configurable for many PLC-families.

XS-Technology consists of

  • ARM-based touchpanels
  • integrated MicroBrowser
  • integrated web server with different PLC-drivers

The resource-saving and long-term stable system configuration enables a performant visualization of user interface.

XS-Technology is supporting three different concepts depending on the PLC:

  • without web server – shows projected web visualization
    The PLC-operating terminal shows web visualization, which is already projected, e.g. Codesys web visualization.
     
  • web server on the panel
    The PLC-operating terminal shows visualization data of integrated web server. The web server is reading the data with standard protocols like S7-ISO-TCP, Modbus-TCP, OPC or CGI.BIN out of the control system.
     
  • Web server on PLC
    The visualization data is stored on the web server of the PLC and can be shown via PLC-operating terminal. Supported control systems see compatibility list.

The MicroBrowser is optimized for the visualization and operation of control systems. It can’t visualize any website.

Web Client with SpiderControl for Different Webservers

The SpiderControl Web-Editor (PLC-Edition) will be offered for many controllers, particular as OEM version of the PLC producers. With this tool you can program very efficient and powerful visualisations, which will run on many plattforms.

* The Web visualization is created with the HMI Web Editor and saved in the format suitable for the TIA Portal. Finally, the visual data is compiled in the TIA Portal and uploaded to the web server.   

Webclients for CoDeSys Web Server

CoDeSys based PLC's with integrated Web visualization will be offered by different manufacturers. An example for this is the Wago 750-841. In order to be able to represent the data of Web visualization, usually a Java applet must be installed in the Client browser. Applet is provided of CoDeSys, calls for a JVM (Java Virtual Machine) on the Client computer ahead. 

A resources-protective and alternative function-compatible to the Java applet offers the MicroBrowser. The MicroBrowser works directly with the visualization objects produced by CoDeSys. An additional configuration tool is not necessary. To start-up only the IP address and the starting side must be entered. Additional to this zipped, CoDeSys web visualization are usable as well.

Web clients for OPC Webserver

OLE for Process Control (OPC) was the original name for this standardized software interfaces that was able to exchange data between applications from different manufacturers in automation technology.

OPC is used as a universal interface for bus systems and protocols. With the Microbrowser, various protocols can be displayed and served via this interface. This allows information from different manufacturers to be addressed simultaneously.

Spider Webserver XS-Systeme

The HMI is designed with the comfortable and efficient SpiderControl PLC edition editor and can be transferred directly to the touch panel. The MicroBrowser is able to show the operator side locally and take the referred variables via LAN directly from the process image of the control (Siemens PLC). 
Additionally the Web server can be used on the panel even by further external Clients, in order to visualize the HMI's deposited there. In addition each Java able standard browser in addition, a XS Web Client can be used.

Virtual Network Computing

A Virtual Network Computing (VNC) is a graphical desktop sharing system that uses the RFB protocol (remote framebuffer) to remotely control another computer. It transmits the keyboard and mouse events from one computer to another, relaying the graphical screen updates back in the other direction, over a network.

VNC is platform-independent – a VNC viewer on one operating system may connect to a VNC server on the same or any other operating system. There are clients and servers for many GUI-based operating systems and for Java. Multiple clients may connect to a VNC server at the same time. Popular uses for this technology include remote technical support and accessing files on one's work computer from one's home computer, or vice versa.

Web Visualization for S7-1200/S7-1500

SpiderControl Web Editor (PLC Edition) enables an easy set-up of HTML5 visualizations for the integrated web server of Siemens S7-1200 and S7-1500 control systems.
Web visualization is saved in a format, which is appropriate for the TIA-portal.
Finally visu data is uploaded to the web server after compiling it in the TIA-protal.
